About bid response latency

OpenWrap provides bid response latency.

  • This includes the execution of the partner ad-client script, network call for a bid, JS execution post bid response for parsing, and appending to GAM. Due to these factors, the average latency is higher than the network call time that may be seen/measured using console or Firebug plugin.
  • Creatives load with their own latency, meaning, the time that it takes for the winning bidder to provide creatives and load them on the browser, at which point it becomes visible to the user. OpenWrap currently does not measure that time. For some SSP/exchanges, this time may be high, and publishers should work with the originating exchange to provide any related feedback.

Existing wrapper reports

PubMatic provides existing reports that enable publishers to quickly and easily get the insights they need to make business decisions and build strategies. Wrapper Analytics are presented in five standard reports:

  • Wrapper Bid Activity report
  • Wrapper Latency Report
  • Wrapper Revenue report
  • Wrapper S2S report
  • Wrapper Video Error report

Net vs Gross in OpenWrap Revenue reporting

Revenue is generated by the winning impressions. Revenue is computed using the bid amount before bid adjustment at the wrapper.  Whether this number is gross or net revenue depends on whether the demand partner is bidding into the wrapper using gross or net bids.

Other key points to know about Revenue reporting:

  • PubMatic reports whatever is passed from SSPs.
  • We recommend configuring OpenWrap net reporting.
  • IF an SSP cannot pass a net bid, the publisher can adjust the bid value by your % rev share. When this is done, reporting will reflect the post-bid-adjusted value.
  • If SSP IS sending net from the get-go, you do not need to adjust the bid, and Pubmatic wrapper reporting will reflect that net value we received from the SSP.
