Section Mapping enables a publisher to create site-specific sections, such as entertainment, sports, fashion, and so on. These sections can then be later used to categorize the impressions to be displayed on the publisher's Web site. Rules in the Rules screen can be created specifically to target such sections. These sections are also used to create the Section Insights report.

To access Section Mapping, select Inventory & Rules > Section Mapping from the main navigation menu.

Creating a Section

  1. Select Inventory & Rules > Section Mapping from the main navigation menu.
  2. Choose Create Section.
  3. Specify the relevant information:
    Section ID: Enter a unique identifier (ID) for the new section.
    Section Name: Enter a unique name for the new section.
  4. Choose Save.

Upload Sections in Bulk

If you have multiple sections to add, you can use the bulk upload to save time and effort.

  1. Select Inventory & Rules > Section Mapping from the main navigation menu.
  2. Choose Upload Sections.
  3. Select the Download a section mapping template link.
  4. Open the downloaded file and enter section information. Save the file.
  5. Return to the PubMatic Section Mapping page and choose Upload Sections.
  6. Select Choose File. Locate and select the file you updated and use Open.
  7. Choose Upload.

Modifying a Section

  1. Search for the section you want to modify by entering the Section ID or Name in the Search box.
  2. Check the box corresponding to that section.
  3. Choose Edit
  4. Modify the information as needed.
  5. Select Save.

Deleting a Section

  1. Search for the section you want to modify by entering the Section ID or Name in the Search box.
  2. Check the box corresponding to that section.
  3. Choose Delete
  4. Use OK to confirm the deletion.

Export a Section List

To export a list of all sections in the account, use the Export button, then select a download format (Excel, CSV, or PDF).
