This document provides information/instructions for using PubMatic's Blocklist Manager 2.0 Beta, which is only available to select customers. For instructions on the current Blocklist Manager in production, please refer to Blocking an Advertiser, Category or Domain

Publishers may be concerned about brand erosion when unwanted creatives display for their visitors. For example, obesity ads, adult ads, and competitor ads can violate a publisher's brand policies. PubMatic's Blocklist Manager prevents unwanted creatives from displaying to visitors by blocking an advertiser, the advertiser's category, domain URLs, and/or creative attributes. Blocklist Manager provides a report of all blocked and available advertisers, advertiser's categories, and domain URLs, which can be updated at any time as needed.

Blocklists apply to both open market and PMP Deals. If your PMP Deal is seeing low bid responses check to make sure you don’t have an advertiser or buyer blocked.

Editing a Blocklist

    1. Select Ad Quality | Blocklist from the main navigation menu.

      Note:
= Full entity selected (e.g., all advertisers and domains within the category)
= Partial entity selected (e.g., only some advertisers or domains within a category)

    2. Select whether you want the blocklist changes to apply to all sites or a particular site by clicking the Apply Blocklist To dropdown menu and select All Sites or a specific site. To locate a site, browse the list to make a selection or begin typing part of the URL and press Enter to begin the search. Continue typing more of the site name and press Enter to narrow the search results.

    3. Select whether you want to view by Category, Advertiser or Domain by selecting the View By drop-down menu and selecting an option.
    4. Enter the criteria of the site you're looking for in one or more Search boxes or browse through the list.
    5. For either Category or Advertiser, use the arrows next to the entity you want to expand. Continue to use the arrows for each sub-level you want to expand. (Domains are displayed in a single list, so there is no need to navigate to another level.)
    6. Select the checkbox for each item you want to block or select the checkbox in a column heading to select all of the items in that column.

To block all domains within a category or advertiser, select the check-box at the highest level (i.e., the category or advertiser in the first column on the left).
    7. Choose Save Changes, then Yes to confirm your blocklist changes.
Blocking can take up to 5-10 minutes to sync and be visible.

Note: When you block a category or an advertiser, it may block a domain within it that is in another category or advertiser.
